Our Dedication To Website Accessibility

Posted on: March 10, 2025

Maintaining a practice in General Adult Psychiatry, I am committed to providing services to those in need and ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.

Efforts to support accessibility and technical specifications

We have attempted to implement features to improve the experience for individuals with disabilities. Some of these features are described below.

HTML text is formatted in a manner to allow website visitors to increase and decrease the text font size when using browsers that provide standard resizing functionality.

Images on the screen contain “ALT tags,” which aid users who listen to the content of the site with a screen reader.

Screen readers will interpret text links as hyperlinks rather than underlined text.

There are also various aids available by third parties and which are provided by most browsers.

Conformance status and compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

We are committed to design, develop and operate our website in substantial conformance with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Levels A and AA (“WCAG”). Those are the generally recognized and accepted guidelines and/or standards for website accessibility.

Our goal is to ensure that our website is compatible with browsers and assistive technologies to be widely accessible to all users.

Third Party Applications

Our website may use third-party add-ons or “plugins” for certain functions, such as Google Maps, social media feeds, etc. These may not work or may not work the same for every user and/or every type of disability. We do not have control over the structure of these plugins and are unable to modify them at all or to the extent that would accommodate every user of our website and are not responsible for those elements that we do not control.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of KatherineWatkinsMD.com, there may be some limitations. Please contact us if you observe an issue.

We are here for you

If you are experiencing difficulties with any content on our website because of a disability, or if you require assistance with any part of our site because of your particular disability, please contact us and let us know. We will be happy to assist.

By committing to this policy, we are demonstrating our dedication to making our website accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability but acknowledge that it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. We continue to seek solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.
